How to stop eating at late night?


Eating at late night is not a good habit. I also used to wake up late night and eat whatever is there in my fridge. Later I felt guilty for eating at wrong time. This is the common issue that many people are facing. People who are trying to lose weight mostly eat very less in day time and when the sun set they just can’t stop themselves from attacking on food. The main reason behind this bad habit is NES (Night eating syndrome) which occurs when you eat less whole day. Other reasons are emotional eating, eating when you are depressed or going through bad relationship. In these situation people tend to satisfy their emotional needs by eating comfort food. Eating late night causes weight gain and poor sleeping cycle. Here are some tips that will help you in avoiding late night.

Eating fruits

Eat enough throughout the day:  Eat after every 2 hours but make sure that you eat only healthy food. Eat your dinner early. Your dinner should not be heavy, make protein and fibre rich food so that you can feel fuller for long. It has been observed that people who eat less throughout the day tends to eat more at night.



Brush your teeth early: Yeah! I know it sounds silly but try this. You won’t like the taste of food after minty toothpaste.

Remove all the junk food from your fridge: If your favorite food will not be available in your fridge or home then I don’t think you will get up from your couch and go to market to buy it. Or when that yummy ice cream will be right there in front of you then it will be impossible to resist the temptation.


Eat fruits: If you can’t stop yourself from the urge to eat then eat an apple or any other food. This will satisfy your hunger.

Keep yourself busy

Keep yourself busy: If are in the habit of staying up late at night then keep yourself busy so that your mind won’t get distract towards eating. Read a novel, watch a movie etc.



Sleep early: Make it a habit. Early to bed, early to rise is the best way to stay fit. Sleeping early is the best way to avoid food craving.

Physical activity: When you feel the urge to eat then instead of gorging on food try to burn some calories. Go for a walk or do any physical activity.

Call

Call your friend: Call your friend for motivational support. This will divert your mind.
